Day 13
Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Elohim Ahavah; ה ָבֲה (The God Who Loves)
Why this name for the 13th? Well, during my study I found that there are those who study the mathematical precision of Hebrew where each letter has a numerical value. The Hebrew word for love, (ahavah) has a numerical value of 13. Isn’t it interesting that the 13th chapter of Corinthians is all about love? It seems to bear witness to the Author of it all.
The Hebrew root for “Ahavah” is “love” but also includes “give.” God’s love for us is expressive, more expressive than any love you have known. We must remember that most expressions of love we see in our world are shallow in comparison to the love of Elohim Ahavah. 1 John 4:8b “Elohim he ahavah” – “God is love.” And, oh, how true it is! As with all the names by which He is called, this name shows that love is God’s essential nature. It is not just what He does, it is Who He is!
Today I want to remind you of how much He loves you – no matter where you are or who you are, no matter what you’ve done. His love will remain! It’s His love that makes all the difference. This One, who is all purity and holiness, longs for sweet, loving communion with you, today and all the days of your life.
Scripture Promise to claim: Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Read the promise above; thank Him for this incredible promise. Ask God to bring to your memory some of the expressions of His love. Ask Him how you can be a representative of His love today.
Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that need to feel the love of God today in a way that heals and renews them.
